Among them was Tiffany Lopez, 41, from the Bronx, who danced to salsa music with a group of about a dozen partiers. “I’m from New York, and this is an epic experience — something a New Yorker rarely does,” Lopez said with a wide smile. “You’re in the heart of Times Square, it’s raining, and everyone is just so happy.”

Many arrived early Tuesday morning to claim their spots, ensuring they wouldn’t miss a moment of the iconic celebration.
