Liam Payne's One Direction Bandmates, Including Harry Styles, Attend Emotional Funeral Service Near London

Family, friends, and fans of Liam Payne gathered to honor the late star at a funeral service on Wednesday, Nov. 20. The service took place at a 12th-century church in the English countryside, northwest of London.

Among those in attendance were Payne’s girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, and his former One Direction bandmates Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, and Niall Horan, who all came to pay their respects. Also present was his ex, Cheryl, the Girls Aloud singer, with whom he shares a 7-year-old son, Bear Grey. James Corden, a close friend of Payne’s, and Simon Cowell, co-creator of One Direction, who helped launch the band on The X Factor in 2010, were there as well. Cowell was accompanied by his fiancée, Lauren Silverman.

Payne tragically passed away on Oct. 16 at the age of 31 after falling several stories from a balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

On Nov. 7, a press release from the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor's Office No. 14 revealed that the toxicology report for the former One Direction member showed traces of "alcohol, cocaine, and prescription antidepressants" in his system.

The prosecutors also stated that "self-harm of any kind and/or physical intervention by third parties were ruled out" as factors in his death.
